Dr Jennifer Wilby is Director of the Centre for Systems Studies and a member of the Management Systems subject group in the Business School at the University of Hull. Jennifer lectures in research methods, decision making, service innovation, and systems theory and practice. Jennifer’s research interests involve applying a multi-disciplinary approach to complex systems research and practice, developing systems resilience and flexibility in the management of complex systems, utilising hierarchies and general system theory, and the development of critical systematic evaluations of research methods. Jennifer is also a part-time (2007-2010) EPSRC post-doctoral fellow researching on the EmergeNet Emerging Sustainability Project.
Jennifer is currently President-elect of the International Society for the Systems Sciences (ISSS), on the Board of the UK Systems Society and Complexity Society, and has been editor of the ISSS conference proceedings and General Systems Bulletin for the past 13 years. Prior to joining the University of Hull, Jennifer was a resarcher in the Centre for Reviews and Dissemination (CRD) at the University of York, producing systematic reviews for the Department of Health, the National Patient Safety Agency and the National Institute for Clinical Excellence.
